Henpecked

Skyeblue wrote a post about roosters, which reminded me of a farm visit a couple of years back:  in this one enclosure, a turkey lived with a bunch of hens (not she-turkeys, but chickens).  Inspite of his worm-infested blue face (see photo below) with wattle that looked like he'd been over-nuked in a microwave, this geezer thought he was the cat's meow---er, well, the rooster's crow, if you will.  He strutted and swaggered like he was the King of Persia.  But one hen served as his court jester, his thorn in the flesh:  she'd skip along behind him, pecking him smack in the anus several times in a row, then letting up for 3-4 minutes, then repeating the treatment.

Across the street, at another farm, these bizarre antics received disdainful gazes from a spectacular white peacock, who looked for all the world like a festive bride.  (No, he didn't have to contend with any picky jesters.)
